- Trailers For Other Movies
Throughout the history of cinema, there has always been a bit of a fascination with Bigfoot and other such legends. In fact you could say that there have been too many of those sorts of movies to keep count.
Some of them have been fantastic and others have been down right awful.
This addition to the genre is pretty much slap bang in the middle.
For a low budget movie, the acting is pretty good and of a much higher quality that I'm used to with this sort of movie. While there were a couple of weak links in the cast, they were just relatively minor characters so they didn't really matter that much in the grand scheme of things.
The writing itself takes quite a methodical approach to proceedings, as does the very able directing by Jordan Blum.
It is true that his style isn't exactly flashy but Blum is definitely a director that knows how to put a low budget to good use.
The special effects are used sparingly and the Bigfoot effects are very well done in a 'less is more' kind of way. That really helps to raise the quality of the action on the screen. A lot of the Bigfoot action is done in quite an old school kind of way, using a man in a suit but for once it doesn't look hokey. The mime style performance of the creature was really well done, as was the costume.
For a low budget release there were a couple of minor problems with the picture transfer but that was just the normal fault of being a little fuzzy around the edges but overall it didn't take away from the enjoyment of the movie.
All in all, this was most definitely one of the better Bigfoot movies that I have seen for quite a while so it's definitely well worth picking it up cheaply and giving it a shot.
